All we do is think about art. Truly.
Every month, we look through thousands of artworks and put in hundreds of hours of curation, so you don't have to. This month, we wanted to show you what that actually looks like.
Our new artist Christa McCann-Silver works in minimal watercolours and graphite, built on Japanese Zen principles. Her pieces in this Edit came from a brief calling for restraint - quiet, considered, almost meditative. Pigment finding its own way through paper, nothing forced. It's part of the Japandi collection we're building, and this is the first time her work has left the studio.
Artist Kyle Goderwis came from a completely different brief - one that wanted presence, not restraint. Bold collage, colour stacked on colour, confident rather than quiet - and he's one of the first names landing in our ES Signature Collection. Works chosen for impact, bold enough to stand apart from a scheme, even sit in tension with it. Pitched for hotel and commercial spaces requiring art with real standing in a room.
Neither was easier to find than the other. Different briefs need different eyes, and that's the part that takes the time - not just finding good work, but finding the right work for what's actually being asked.
If you've got a brief that needs the right eye, we're already looking.
